With Vestaradio services you can create an internet radio station and start broadcasting within minutes, either from the schedule you build in the manager or live with the Vestalive software, or any other software you prefer.  You can then design a personalised website and request mobile apps, to put them in the hands of your listeners. We want you, as a user of our services, to understand how we use your data and how you can protect your own privacy and that of your visitors and listeners.

Our privacy policy explains:

We try to be as clear as we can. If you are not familiar with terms such as "cookies", "IP addresses", "pixel tags" or "browsers", have a look first at our glossary . At Vestaradio we care about keeping your private data confidential. So whether you are a new user or an old hand, take the time to read how we work, and if you have questions, do contact us.

A unique device identifier (also called a universally unique identifier, or UUID) is a string of characters built into a device by its maker. The IMEI code of a mobile phone is one example.
Unique identifiers for internet-connected devices help in particular to strengthen security and to detect fraud properly.

The information we collect serves to improve the services we offer all our users. It can be basic, such as the language you use, or more complex, such as your location.

We collect data in the following ways:

  • Information you give us: to use our services you often have to create a Vestaradio account. In that case you provide personal information, such as your name, your email address, your phone number or your bank details, which are saved with your account if you choose to pay by direct debit.

  • Information we collect when you use our services: we collect information about the services you use and how you use them. For example, when you visit a website published by Vestaradio and its services, and do things there. That information can include:

    • Data about thedevice you use

    • We collect data about the device you use, for example the model, the operating system version, the unique device identifiers and information about the mobile network, including your phone number.

    • Log files:

When you use our services and make them available to your listeners and visitors, we collect and store information in the log files on our servers. This includes:

      • data about telephone calls, such as your number, the caller's number, the number called, the time and date of the calls and how long they lasted, when you use Vestalive.

      • your IP address.

      • data about events on the device you use, such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, your browser type and language, the date and time of the request and the referring URL.

      • cookies that identify the number of visitors, how long the station is listened to, and any statistic useful for following your station.

    • Location data

When you, your visitors or your listeners use Vestaradio services, we may collect and process data about your precise position, through your IP address.

    • Unique application numbers

Some Vestaradio services that use technology provided by Google, for statistics in particular, contain a unique application number. That number and information about your installation (the type of operating system and the version number, for instance) may be sent to Google when you install or uninstall the service, or when the service contacts our servers regularly (to request automatic updates, for example).

    • Local storage

We may collect and store data (including personal data) on the device you use, through mechanisms such as web browser storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.

    • Cookies and similar technologies

We use various technologies to collect and store data when you use the website or the app, for example cookies or similar technologies that identify your browser or your device. We also use these technologies to collect and store information when you interact with the services of our partners and suppliers, such as advertising services or Google features. Privacy concerns differ from one person to another. We want to be transparent about how we collect and use data about you, so that you have everything you need to make informed choices. For example, you can:

Some Vestaradio services let you share information on social networks. Remember that when you share information there, it can be public depending on your settings, and it can be indexed by search engines.

Seeing and updating your personal data

When you use our services, we want you to be able to see your personal information. If something is wrong, we make sure you can update it quickly or delete it, unless we have to keep it for legitimate business reasons or because the law requires it. Before answering a request to update your personal information, we may ask you to identify yourself.

We reserve the right to decline any request that is unreasonable because it is repetitive or systematic, any request calling for disproportionate technical effort (developing a new system, for instance, or making a major change to an existing procedure), any request that would compromise the confidentiality of third-party data, or that is impractical (requests about data held on backup systems, for example).

Access to data and its correction is free, except where doing so would take disproportionate effort. We take every step to protect the data handled through our services against accidental or deliberate destruction. As a result, even when you delete data used by our services, we do not systematically delete straight away the residual copies on our active servers or those held in our backup systems.

We share your personal data with companies outside the services published by Vestaradio, or with third-party organisations or people, only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent

We share personal data about you with third-party companies, organisations or people only with your consent.

  • With administrators of other Vestaradio services

If the Vestaradio service you use is offered on another site published by Vestaradio, then the domain administrator and any subcontractor providing user support for your organisation will have access to your Vestaradio account data (including, in particular, your email address). Your domain administrator may be able to:

    • see the statistics for your account, including those about the applications you install;

    • change your account password;

    • suspend or remove access to your account;

    • access the data held in your account and keep it;

    • receive data specific to your account in order to meet legal, regulatory, judicial or administrative obligations ;

    • restrict your rights to delete or change data or privacy settings.

  • For external processing

We pass personal data to our services published by Vestaradio, or to other trusted companies or people who process it on our behalf, on our instructions, in line with this privacy policy and with any other appropriate security and confidentiality measure.

  • For legal reasons

We will share personal data with third-party companies, organisations or people only if we believe in good faith that access to, use of, protection of or disclosure of that data is reasonably justified in order to:

    • meet legal or regulatory obligations, judicial proceedings or enforceable government requests;

    • enforce the terms of use in force, including to establish whether they have been breached;

    • detect, prevent or address fraudulent activity, security breaches or any technical problem;

    • guard against any harm to the rights, property or safety of Vestaradio, its users or the public, as the law allows and requires.

We may share publicly, and with our partners (publishers, advertisers or associated sites), information that does not identify the user personally. We may, for instance, share publicly information about how our services are used.

Should Vestaradio take part in a merger, an acquisition or any other form of transfer of assets, we undertake to keep your personal data confidential and to tell you before it is transferred or made subject to a new privacy policy.

This privacy policy may change. Any reduction in your rights under this privacy policy will not be applied without your express consent. We will publish any change to the privacy policy on this page and, where the changes are significant, we will publish a prominent notice (including, for some services, by email). Earlier versions of this privacy policy will be archived and made available to users.

Glossary

A unique device identifier (also called a universally unique identifier, or UUID) is a string of characters built into a device by its maker. The IMEI code of a mobile phone is one example.
Unique identifiers for internet-connected devices help in particular to strengthen security and to detect fraud properly.

The device is whatever you use to reach the internet and our services. It can be a computer, a tablet or a smartphone, among others.

Web browser storage keeps data in the browser of your connected device. Thanks to HTML 5 and "local storage", the data is retrieved from one session to the next, even once the browser has been closed.

Personal information is what you give us in order to create your account and identify yourself. It includes your name, your postal address, your email address and your phone number. You can see and change your personal information at any time in your account.

Web browser storage keeps data in the browser of your connected device. Thanks to HTML 5 and "local storage", the data is retrieved from one session to the next, even once the browser has been closed.

An IP (Internet Protocol) address is the identifying number of every device connected to the internet. It is allocated according to where the connection is, which makes it possible to tell where a visit to the site came from.

Vestaradio's servers record the pages visited automatically, for statistics and to improve the website. The information recorded in the server logs is, as on most websites, your IP address, your browser type and language, and the date, time and length of your visit. This is also when cookies are used, to check that your connection is a single one.

An application data cache improves a site's performance by displaying data more quickly, and also allows it to display without an internet connection. Technically it is a data store on a device.

To be clear, Vestaradio collects none of this information. It is set out here by way of explanation. Sensitive personal data means a person's confidential information, such as data about their health, their ethnic, racial or social origins, their political opinions, their religious beliefs and their sexuality.

This covers the information recorded about visitors to the site in a way that does not make them personally identifiable.
